Manchester Metropolitan University – Virtual Internship

November 2025

Kalapula Agribusiness Ventures successfully hosted a three-week virtual internship in collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University and Practera, welcoming seven final-year Bachelor’s students specialising in Animal Behaviour, Conservation, and Zoology.

The internship commenced on November 10th and was structured as a collaborative, project-based learning experience. Students were introduced to KAbV’s vision and operations, with a particular focus on its integrated circular farming model linking crop production, piggery, and aquaculture into a zero-waste, resource-efficient system.

During the first week, students explored key themes including:

  • Circular economy principles in agriculture
  • Zero-waste livestock and aquaculture systems
  • Resource efficiency and sustainability in agribusiness

As part of their core assignment, the interns reviewed KAbV’s business plan and pitch deck, providing structured feedback and strategic recommendations to strengthen the enterprise’s growth and impact model.

Throughout the program, engagement between the interns and KAbV was marked by open communication, strong collaboration, and analytical rigour. The final report demonstrated high levels of professionalism, research depth, and teamwork, contributing valuable insights to KAbV’s ongoing development.

KAbV is proud to have supported this international academic partnership and looks forward to expanding its internship offerings to future cohorts.
