Global Collaboration: Working with SOAS University of London Students to Advance Circular Agriculture in Zambia (16th February – 1st March)

Kalapula Agribusiness Ventures Limited (KAbV) is proud to share the successful completion of our recent 2-week Virtual Industry Project with students from SOAS University of London, delivered in collaboration with Practera. This global collaboration brought together two student consulting teams who worked closely with us to explore innovative solutions that support the growth of our integrated circular farming system in rural Zambia.

One group focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data-driven innovation, identifying practical and affordable technologies that could improve operational efficiency, strengthen decision-making, and help us better track economic, environmental, and social impact across our farming system.

The second group explored sustainable impact strategies, researching practical circular farming approaches that convert agricultural waste into valuable resources such as organic fertiliser and livestock feed. Their work also examined inclusive community models that support smallholder farmers, women, and rural youth.

Both teams delivered well-researched and insightful reports within a short timeframe, demonstrating strong analytical thinking, professionalism, and a clear understanding of real-world sustainability challenges.

We are sincerely grateful to all the students for their dedication, fresh perspectives, and collaborative spirit. Their recommendations provide valuable guidance as we continue to scale our circular farming model and strengthen our impact in the communities we serve.

We also extend our appreciation to Practera for facilitating this meaningful partnership and to SOAS University of London for providing students with the opportunity to engage with real industry challenges.

Initiatives like this help bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application, while fostering international collaboration to advance sustainable agriculture and rural development.

We look forward to future opportunities to continue working with students and partners who share our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth.
